skill balace suggestion
the recent skill balance did not satisfy me and i want to post some of my suggestions
General:
i think all touch skills and projectile skills can be blocked. i can block axes, dagger, sword, why i cannot block your touch or your ice ball?
Yes a lot of skill balance should be done but its necessary.
Monk:
i have no too much comment on him, the only skill i want to mansion is LoD, this skill can heal the whole team so it should cost 10e for balance, may be the healing can be increased to 80 at 14 heal prayer.
Ritualist:
i like this class but it was nerfed again and again
their skills are conditional, they need spirits, holding items or influenced by a weapon spell to make their skill effective
i hope the spawning power can give more passive effect to their spells or give some good spawning power skills
i have an interesting idea:
Item Spell. Hold XX ashes for up to 15...51 seconds. While you hold his ashes, you gain +10 maximum energy and transform into a spirit(spawning power)
you look like a spirit but you can run and use skills as a human, you are a spirit so you have a spirit within earshot, for example you can use spirit light on an ally but you don't sacrifice Health
i hope Ritualist can replace monk sometimes in gvg.
Paragon:
the problem of Paragon is he can play a offensive and defensive role at the same time and still have high armor.
My suggestion is to move all offensive shout, chant and echo into Command attribute and move all defensive shout, chant and echo in to Motivation attribute
so that the following skills are moved to command attribute
Aggressive Refrain
Anthem of Flame
Anthem of Fury
Blazing Finale
Burning Refrain
Soldier's Fury
and the following skills are moved to motivation attribute:
Defensive Anthem
Hexbreaker Aria
"They're on Fire!"
paragons are at least needed to spend more attribute point in to command or motivation attribute
Assassin:
this class maybe fine in 8v8, but they are too dangerous in 4v4 arena
i agree assassins are assassin, they should have good 1v1 killing skills. But they kill too easy now
my suggestion is that make the following skills cost 15e
Blades of Steel
Horns of the Ox
Trampling Ox
blade of steel provide a very good damage output,
Horn of the ox and tramping ox can knock down enemy
those skills are overpower at this moment, i want to increase the cost to 15e to reflect the true power of the skills.
assassin can still use them but they should consider some energy management such as:
Golden Lotus Strike
Lotus Strike
Way of the Empty Palm
another problem is Deadly Paradox , i have no idea how to change it, but if we just consider this skill itself, it is as good as, or even better than an elite skill( compare with Mantra of Recovery ), something should be changed

I don't think you quite understand the effects of moving those paragon skills out of leadership would have.

I disagree with the monk part. I think that the elite slot and the conditional heal are worth the low energy cost.
As for the Paragon, yeah it's an amazing party support class. That's what it was designed for. It can tank and buff the party and do damage. It's not great at any of them, but it is capable at all.
As for the Assassin, I think they should all die a condition-induced death, with love from a person who plays a monk.

You might get a bit more discussion on this topic if you put it in the suggestion forum, or if you simply add your thoughts to the threads already discussing the latest skill balance.
But that's just my two cents

Welcome to the wonderfull world of skill balancing.
Just like Arenanet you examine the game as you see it find reasons to make alterations and then get loads of reasons why it was wrong
Its a lose lose situation always was always will be.
Leave it alone - its wrong say some
Make it better - wrong
Make it worse - wrong again
fix pvp problem - make pve problem
fix pve problem - make pvp problem
Bring out new game with new characters and skills multiply the above by 100
fun isnt it
